Challenge: Day 3 - Morning After
Summary: A camping trip has interesting results.
Glorfindel groaned as the pain in his head made its self known. `What had
happened?' he wondered.
The last thing he remembered had been setting up camp with Elrond. His lord had
needed to get away from everything for a few days and convinced him to let him
go camping. They had found a quiet little corner above the falls far enough away
to give a semblance of privacy but still be within the borders for safety. It
was as they were setting up camp that his mind went blank.
Feeling comfortable but warm he shifted his weight. It was then that he noticed
several things. The first was that he was not alone in his bed. There was a very
warm body pressed up against his. This thought led to his noticing that neither
he, not the warm body appeared to be dressed. He tensed slightly then used his
other senses to give him more information. A deep sniff brought the pleasant
scent of chocolate and cinnamon, with a touch of lemon to his nostrils. He
recognized this scent as Elrond's. The size and approximate weight of the one
beside him fit with this knowledge. Taking a peek out of one eye, he was glad to
know who was snuggled with him.
`But why was Elrond snuggled up with him, naked?' he wondered. He remembered
drinking no wine this day so that could not explain anything. His headache had
increased when he peeked his eye open and he wondered if that that was
associated with what had happened. Moving his free arm resulted in the
knowledge, with pain, that it also had been injured. Broken to be exact he
realized. Now he really
wondered what had happened. Nudging Elrond with his other arm produced no
results. He wondered why as he slowly slipped back into unconsciousness.
He woke again some time later to discover that it was dark. This time there was
no pain in his head. The warm body beside him was pressed even closer than last
time, obviously seeking warmth. A gentle shake to Elrond only produced a sleepy
protest so he pulled the covers off of him instead.
"Hey," Elrond exclaimed as he tried to pull the covers back around him. Looking
around, he stilled as he took in the situation. He gave Glorfindel a confused
look.
"Don't ask me," was all he said. "Do you remember anything?"
Elrond didn't answer but the distant, exhausted, confused look that he could see
on his face reminded Glorfindel of how his Lord looked after a particularly
difficult healing. That only confused him more. Coving Elrond again, he secretly
enjoyed the snuggling. No one had been this close to him in literally ages. He
would bide his time and enjoy this until Elrond was aware enough to give him
answers.
Late the next morning Elrond woke as a sliver of sunlight crossed his face. He
was comfortably warm despite the cool temperature. Noticing the rise and fall of
the warmth he was laying on, he grew confused. Slowly raising his head and
looking up, he saw that he was snuggled up close to Glorfindel. Then he wondered
how and why. As he took further stock of the situation he realized that they
were both naked. That stilled him. Had anything happened?
Looking closer at Glorfindel, Elrond saw that he was injured but had been tended
to. `Did he do that?' he wondered.
Glorfindel had been lying quietly enjoying the feel of Elrond next to him when
he felt him wake. Wondering what the reaction would be, he faked being asleep
and curiously waited to see. It surprised
him when Elrond snuggled back down even closer after looking around for a few
minutes. Feeling Elrond relax against him started his mind thinking in a whole
different direction. `Did it mean anything?'
They lay like that, privately enjoying the feel of each other, until finally
bodily needs forced Elrond to rise. Gently, so as to not wake Glorfindel, he
slipped out of the blankets and went outside the tent. Glorfindel decided to be
awake when Elrond came back. Several minutes passed before he heard Elrond
return and restart the fire outside. Then he watched as he slipped back inside
and under the covers drawing against him for warmth.
"Here, draw closer," he said as he pulled Elrond against him with his good arm.
"Thank you," came a clearly nervous reply. "How are you feeling?"
"My arm hurts but it is tolerable," Glorfindel replied. "So I was injured?"
"A stray bear with a cub came up behind us," Elrond explained. "You don't
remember?"
"Only that we were setting up camp," he answered.
"That is understandable with the blow you took to the head," Elrond provided.
"Your memory will come back in time."
"Including how we ended up like this?" he asked gently.
"I am not sure but I think I collapsed against you after healing you," Elrond
said haltingly. "But I thought we were both still clothed."
"So that part remains a mystery," Glorfindel answered.
"Do you mind?" came the quiet question.
"No, I do not," Glorfindel said before deciding to continue. "I have loved you
for a long time."
"If I had not already lost my heart to Celebrķan before you arrived on the
scene, I suspect we would have bonded," he confessed. "Or I would have at least
tried too."
"Yes we might have," Glorfindel conceded as he confessed his own feelings.
"Too bad you are injured," Elrond said as he leaned up and gave the blonde a
gentle kissed that lingered.
"We have time," came the answer as Glorfindel rolled them over and settled
between Elrond's legs. "We will be here for several days and it is just a broken
arm."
After a long kiss Elrond stopped as something occurred to him."So, what happened
to our cloths?"
"They are obviously gone. Besides, who cares?" Glorfindel said as he leaned down
for another kiss and ground their groins together.
As they heard the two elves resume kissing, a group of wood sprites danced away
merrily after flinging the clothing into the tree tops.
