This herd of Glorfindel's and Asfaloth's role in it – such a terrific idea. The hair question surprised me at first, as i had never heard bows to be strung with hair. But of course, it would be difficult to find sufficient hair at short notice, and your take on it is very plausible. Do you happen to know how the hair was used to string bows? Was it plaited, or used in strands like horse-hair on a violin bow? I've only ever shot a medieval bow twice and can remember how strong the pull is, and imagine it must me much more difficult to use hair than tendons to string a bow well. But poor, dear Erestor! What a valiant and thoughtful gesture.
