Death in the Second Age by Zhie
Author's Notes:
Elrond, thinking about the deceased King he heralded.
From it we come
And back become
The dust sweeps over my boots, bloodied from war
Swirls past, and is carried off upon the wind
So sudden, too fast
A light so blinding without the decency to deafen my screaming
And he is gone
Lost
All I have left are scraps of metal and years of memories
So sudden, too fast
No last goodbye
No final kiss
Just me, alone
With nothingness
