Death in the Third Age by Zhie
Author's Notes:
Legolas, reminiscing about Boromir.
I hardly knew him
Yet we are all brothers
So for my brother I mourn
Our numbers dwindle
Still we continue on
I hear a voice inside my head
Nagging me
Reminding me
‘You will lose them all one day’
But as time passes
The bond with my brothers grows
At night I sit awake as they sleep
All I see is death
Perhaps not today, not tomorrow
But someday
I will say my farewell to each
For him, it came too soon
He told me of his dreams
I told him they would come true
He had hope
Now mine wavers
For Middle-earth, I pledged to protect
But for his dreams, I fight for Gondor
