The wait was longer than what he had faced when he stood, utterly hopeless, arrow poised and string drawn back.
“You can learn to love again.”
Fists clenched, he wished now not for the aid of Mandos, but for the bow and arrow, and a straight shot at his brutal ex-lover’s heart.
Maedhros took a step forward, and Fingon a step back. The redhead sighed. “This love was never real.”
It hurt. The arrow was upon him now, and Fingon felt it pierce his chest. The words hurt him more than an arrow ever could.
“You lie.”
Maedhros walked away.
